Invented over a century ago, Cyanotype is one of the oldest forms of printmaking. The resulting print is a distinctive image with cyan blue and white tones. Though this art isn’t commonly practised anymore, you can now have a chance to create your own masterpiece at Cyanotype: The Art of Sun Printing on 14 April 2018. The process of creating a cyanotype is rather simple. All you need is some guidance and the right chemicals. Essentially, an absorbent sheet of paper is coated with a chemical solution and an object is placed over it. After exposure to sunlight, the material…

Facial cleansing has always been such a mundane daily routine signifying the end of a day or the beginning of another. It feels like such a hassle to have to remove my makeup and wash my face, especially after a particularly long day. But this week I’ve been having more fun switching up this part of my day by trying out some unusual face cleansers. Some of these face cleansers are so strange that I got a bit of a kick trying them. There’s an oil cleanser that dispenses in the form of a non-drip foam, a face wash that comes…
In recent years, Singapore has become somewhat of a hotspot for art exhibitions. The latest exhibit, Disini, will be held at Gilman Barracks until September 2018, with no entry charges! For a period of time, “film” photos were all the rage on social media; I’m sure I wasn’t the only one seeing countless “film” photos appearing on my Instagram feed, right? But, there was a catch — these photos were not actually taken with a film camera. Instead, they were shot using mobile applications designed to mimic the experience and look of film photography. I decided to put one of the apps, Gudak, to the test and see how the photos shot on it fared against those shot on an actual film camera. For the experiment, I tested Gudak vs a Fujifilm…

But hey, you can still benefit from our experience. Besides the ubiquitous white wall shots, here are eight photo spots around Nanyang Technological University (NTU) that you can shoot at! 1. Walkway At South Spine,…

If you’re clueless about the concept of upcycling, you really should head down to the upcoming UP Fest 2018.
