Invented over a century ago, Cyanotype is one of the oldest forms of printmaking. The resulting print is a distinctive image with cyan blue and white tones.
Though this art isn’t commonly practised anymore, you can now have a chance to create your own masterpiece at Cyanotype: The Art of Sun Printing on 14 April 2018.

The process of creating a cyanotype is rather simple. All you need is some guidance and the right chemicals.
Essentially, an absorbent sheet of paper is coated with a chemical solution and an object is placed over it. After exposure to sunlight, the material is then rinsed in water and left to dry. The imprint of the object will be in white while the rest of the background will be in a shade of cyan blue.

The workshop will be held at DECK with a maximum of 20 participants, making it an intimate and cosy experience. Also, DECK members get to enjoy a 10% discount and participants who sign up as a pair will enjoy S$5 off per pax.

Materials and equipment will be provided, so all you have to do is bring yourself down to master an unconventional technique of using nature to create beautiful prints!
