Physically exploring the world is beyond our limits now due to the COVID-19 situation. Not to worry though, with NASA’s new Internet and social media special, NASA at Home, you get to engage yourself in the agency’s discoveries, research, and exploration from around the world and across the universe—from the sanctity of your home.
#NASAatHome has something for everybody. Whether you’re looking for binge-worthy shows, augmented reality tours or even just do-it-yourself projects, NASA has fun in store for the whole family. They even have an application that puts you on the pilot seat of a NASA aircraft—bringing your aeronautical aspirations to life
The educational special also provides access to everything from formal lesson plans to amazing imagery and stories about how science and exploration help the world. If you’re interested in practising safe science from home, they also provide opportunities for citizen scientists to contribute to real ongoing research. This includes searching for brown dwarfs and planets in our outer solar system and helping track changes in clouds, plants and other life forms to contribute to their climate research.
The purpose of the social media launch is to provide a platform for individuals to explore and adventure across the world without having to leave their homes. They’ve provided a plethora of information at each user’s fingertips that enable their imaginations to run wild.
NASA hopes everyone takes a few moments to venture the world while public health and social distancing is maintained. So remember to check in regularly with #NASAatHome for the latest and greatest the universe has to offer.
