COVID-19 In Pictures: X-Marks The Spot

In this series of photos, we take a closer look at the various creative ways places in Singapore display their mark of social distancing. If you’ve been brave enough to leave your house, you would have noticed the duct tape and stickers that have been plastered everywhere around the country to deter you from using up a particular space.

The restrictions imposed are in line with MOH’s guidelines for venues around Singapore to practice strict social distancing for the greater good of everyone in the country.  The X’s serve as a strikingly prominent reminder of the need for us to ensure we keep our distances apart—especially in this crucial time where a remarkable spike in local and unlinked cases have been observed.

To give you a view on what the situation is like all-around Singapore, our writers have snapped pictures along the way throughout their days so you don’t have to come out of your house to know what it looks like out here.

What was once unimaginable in our highly densely populated city has now become a reality as our already limited space is further cut down and crowds slowly disappear as everyone begins to confide in the safety of their homes.

We hope that you practice good hygiene habits in this dire time as we all strive to overcome this pandemic outbreak together—hopefully with as few people as possible falling victim to the vicious virus. Stay safe, sound and sanitized as you practice social responsibility with everyone around you.
