UNIQLO has long been adored for its simplicity and style. We love the brand, but we love them even more for sticking to the values they stand by. Starting 2 March 2020, UNIQLO Singapore is going eco-friendly and replacing all plastic bags with recycled paper.
This has been done in conjunction with the sustainability announcement they made back in July 2019. Then, the fast-fashion giant pledged to eliminate the use of unnecessary plastic throughout its supply chain and to reduce the amount of single-use plastic handed to customers. This change aims to tackle the environmental issues revolving around the fashion world, with a vision of cutting annual plastic usage by 85-percent, or 7,800 tons worldwide, by the end of 2020.
With “Respect the Environment” being one of UNIQLO’s six core values in their efforts to promote sustainability, they’ve gone even further and launched a new eco-friendly tote bag with a clean and simple design which can be used anytime, anywhere.
What are you waiting for? Join in the movement and save the world in style. The eco-friendly paper shopping bags will be going at S$0.10 each whilst the eco-friendly tote bags can be purchased for S$2.90. This is an extremely small price to pay considering the change you’ll be bringing about in the world. You can head over to any Uniqlo outlet near you from 2 March onwards to get your hands on these bags.
