Welcome to Phase 2 out of Circuit Breaker! For all fitness enthusiasts, I know how much you’ve missed the gyms or getting sweaty outside. If you are excited to resume your exercise classes or ramp up the frequency of your outdoor sports, here’s how you can resume with safety in mind.
Literally and figuratively, Under Armour (UA) has got us covered with their first-of-its-kind sports mask—the UA Sportsmask.
Designed by the UA innovation team, the flexible face mask is reusable and water-resistant, all while keeping sports performance in mind.
To enhance athletic performance, the UA sports mask is engineered with a three-layer model—spacer fabric, open-cell foam, and UA iso-chill.
Collectively, it enhances comfort and breathability while protecting the wearer from harmful external viruses.
The third layer—UA iso-chill—is treated with PROTX2™, a non-metal anti-microbial technology that inhibits bacterial growth on the mask.
One noteworthy design of the product is the moldable nose-bridge that secures the mask in place. The snug placement on the face prevents any undesirable fogging of glasses from the moisture when you exhale.
I think of wearing masks as a team sport, because it requires the participation of each team member to be successful. When everybody wears masks together, it can be quite effective in reducing the spread of COVID-19, which could be especially important in close-contact environments like a gym or when training with a group.
