Being the only country with a DisneySea theme park, Japan’s Disney landscape is constantly evolving and updating. I’m just going to cut to the chase and say this—Disneyland Japan has just announced its latest expansion, New Fantasyland, and the internet is loving it already.
The New Fantasyland is themed to the well-loved Beauty and The Beast series, featuring attractions such as Maurice’s Cottage, Gaston’s Fountain, Belle’s Village, and The Beast’s Castle. The breath-taking tower has been created in the image of The Beast’s actual castle, as seen in the movie. It’s a sight to behold indeed—quite the opposite from the “poor, provincial town” that Belle grew up in.
Dripping in pastel hues, the castle looks exactly like something straight out of a fairytale—complete with idyllic gold rims and majestic gargoyle statues flanking its sides. The attraction will be home to restaurants, gift shops, and even an indoor theatre, ‘Fantasyland Forest Theatre’—I’m already excited for the live shows to come just thinking about it.
So, if you’re looking for one more sign to hop onto that plane to the land of the rising sun, this is it. Go forth, cue all the Instagram pictures, and play to your heart’s content at the happiest place on Earth.
This expansion is expected to be unveiled and open to the public on 15 April 2020, though its exterior appears to be set already, as far as what we can see from pictures at least.
Date: From 15 April 2020
