Italian shoe brand Superga and model Drea Chong are both big names in the local fashion scene. Now that they’ve combined forces, they’ve got us lusting after the latest Superga X Drea Chong collection.
After a three-year-long partnership, Andrea Chong has stepped up as a designer at the Superga brand and her debut collection was released on 29 June 2018.
We know that the trouble with sneakers is that they can get quite hard to match when you’re going for a more feminine look. Andrea’s collection not only reflects her gentle and laid-back demeanour, the espadrille-inspired ropes along the shoe rim keep things casual too.
Apart from the shoes, you can also look forward to a postcard, an extra pair of round laces and a Superga per Drea Chong tote bag in the box.
The 2750 Rose Mahogany (S$139.90) is just one out of the three colours that the kicks come in. This was a popular favourite amongst us here in the Hype & Stuff office because of its rosy hues, which we felt complemented the tweed really well.
Like my colleague suggested, styling it with a good ol’ pair of blue jeans will never go wrong!
The collab also comes in beige and white, and what you see here is the staple 2750 White ($139.90). If you’re looking for that everyday pair that goes with just about anything, then this should be your pick!
Oh, and we’re also loving the special touch with the rose gold rivets.
Taking a closer look at the shoebox, you’ll notice that it’s actually been designed to emulate a postcard, inspired by Andrea’s travels ’round the globe.
The design was well thought-out by Andrea herself, right down to the small details — the stamps actually read “Singapore” and “29 June 2018”, in remembrance of the launch.
The box is also decorated with the same muted tones that can be found in her collection.
As an overall pretty aesthetic and wholesome set, this Superga x Drea Chong collection is for the “modern-day traveller, that still has comfort and style in mind”, as Andrea herself puts it.
