To honour the many internationally recognised contemporary and anime artists who have contributed to the art scene, Polar Bear Gallery collects and displays their artworks for public viewing.
As a recent addition to the gallery, they have included original film celluloids from Studio Ghibli, a popular animation film studio based in Japan.
Fans of director Hayao Miyazaki’s work will surely appreciate these rare production pieces from Kiki’s Delivery service, My Neighbour Totoro, Laputa: Castle In The Sky, and many more.
On permanent display, the illustrations are part of a private collection that is said to be exhibited for the first time ever in Singapore. Designed before the advent of computer animation, the works depicted are traditionally hand-drawn and taken from the most iconic scenes in Miyazaki’s widely loved films.
If you’re a huge fan of Studio Ghibli, why not head on down to the Polar Bear Gallery to admire this special selection of celluloids. The admission is free!
