Star Wars is making its round of collaborations in anticipation of its ninth installation, and adidas is taking another turn with the partnership- this collection drops 2 December 2019. The shoe-making giant is releasing versions of its NMDs and Nite Joggers that take notes from iconic characters from the extensive franchise.
The six-shoe pack will consist of four NMDs that will characterise Darth Vader, Yoda, Princess Leia and the newest female protagonist, Rey.
The Galaxy’s famous villain will be represented by a black base and a sharp, menacing red accents with “Join me and rule the galaxy” engraved into the heel.
The lovable Jedi master will be characterised similarly in a black base, but with the calm green colourway, with his words of wisdom “Do or do not. There is no try” stamped at the heel. A strip of colour symbolising each character’s lightsaber will run up the toebox.
Meanwhile, Rey’s NMDs come in a tan shade in acknowledgement of her homeworld, Jakku. The shoe also sports blue accents as a nod to her weapon. Find your inner warrior princess with Leia’s camo print NMDs.
The Nite Joggers come in two different colour palettes – white, blue and silver to represent R2-D2, and white with accents of grey in a nod to the Stormtroopers. All of the shoes will feature their respective characters on the tongue of the shoe.
This collection is the third Star Wars-themed collection that Adidas has worked on. The previous two collections featured more generic references to the cult series.
Shoes are retailing between USD$50 (S$68.30) to USD$130 (S$177.60).
