Scoop Wholefoods is a plastic-free grocer which features Australian produce as well as premium wholefoods from around the world.
On 18 March 2020, they finally brought their sustainable brand to the east with their third branch opening in PLQ Mall. Thankfully, we were lucky enough to be one of the first few to find ourselves in the outlet.
If you’ve never been here, I can assure you that it’s worth a visit. From bath soaps to beeswax, it’s heaven on earth to your everyday sustainability lover. So without further ado, here are the ten most interesting items I landed my eyes on.
1. Disinfectant Spray Lemon Myrtle
In light of the whole coronavirus situation, the Lemon Myrtle disinfectants in metal dispensers were quick to catch my attention. If you missed out on all the hand sanitizers or disinfectants at your neighbourhood Watsons, fret no more. Scoop Wholefoods has a sustainable alternative for you to select just the right amount to meet your health-conscious needs.
2. Soap Berries
This isn’t your ordinary soap. It’s unique, and it’s berry interesting. These organic berries aren’t for consumption but can be used on your clothing. Purchase to your heart’s content and carry out your ultimate garden girl transformation. As you dream of walking the streets smelling like berries, remember that you’re paying by the quantity purchased, so don’t get too carried away.
3. Organic Exfoliators
I’m sure you have your regular set of exfoliators that you buy from Guardian every few weeks or so but these are special. They’re organic. You can find several different forms of exfoliators here in the form of solid blocks that won’t just leave your face smooth but smelling extra fresh too. Become one with mother nature as you use her powers to cleanse your body.
4. Himalayan Salt
Where else can you get your bulk supply of Himalayan salt? Its benefits are endless. From table salt to food presentation or even just your at-home spa treatment, it’s always a pleasure to have around. Get as much as you want and use it for whatever purpose you wish.
5. Natural Teeth Whitener
If you’re looking to brighten up your smile then this Smile Dust is sure to leave you satiated. Teeth whiteners can be pretty scary considering the chemicals that are put into its manufacture. With this, you can rest assured that no harmful pollutants are seeping into your body as it’s 100% natural and fully vegan.
6. Bamboo Strainers
If tea is part of your everyday routine then this is perfect for you. Go for the authentic alternative and use these all-natural bamboo strainers to diffuse your tea. You might even enjoy the hint of bamboo in your drink as you reminisce on the good ole’ days where tea diffusers weren’t a thing.
7. Beeswax
Have no idea what that is? It’s fine. With a quick google search, you’ll discover that it has a whole bunch of uses. From wrapping your sandwiches or even just nuts and berries this cling wrap replacement can do it all. They have a range of sizes and designs available so you’re spoilt for choice on exactly what and how much you want to purchase. Try just one and you might end up deeming it as a necessity for the rest of your life.
8. Dried Flowers
This isn’t your typical flower shop but you’re going to get a lot more from these dried beauties than the stalks of roses you’ll find at NTUC. Over here, there are a variety of dried flowers and petals that you can use for all sorts of things. From smoothening your skin to nourishing your body, the possibilities are endless. Get just one kind or get it all, the choice is yours.
9. Organic Laundry Products
If you’re sick of your usual Downy detergent, they have organic alternatives available for you. From dishwashing powder to detergent, there’s quite a diversity of laundry essentials that you can precisely select over at Scoop Wholefoods. Get rid of germs and celebrate as your clothes carry an aromatic scent of lemongrass afterwards.
10. Scoop Merchandise
For the avid fans of this wholefoods retailer, you’ll be glad to land your hands on their line of sustainable merchandise. It ranges from straw baskets and caps to even just water bottles and tote bags. They’re not just sustainable but minimalistic and fashionable too. Walk around in style and show the world that you love saving the Earth.
On top of that, Scoop Wholefoods also has an app that provides an amass of recipes that you can try out. There are QR codes around the store for you to scan and install the app.
However, for heightened convenience, there’s an iPad situated within the store that lets you use the app immediately to review the latest recipes that they’ve devised out.
This allows you to immediately check out the exact amounts required to create whatever it is that you want.
Head down over to the latest Scoop Wholefoods outlet and experience it all for yourself. You can download the app in advance so you’re all set on what to get once you’ve reached.
Since the Earth is going through severe environmental changes right now, why not take this chance to make your own small step towards a making positive change.
