COVID-19: In Pictures — The Desolation of The Circuit Breaker at Malls & Food Outlets

7th April 2020 was the beginning of a new era for Singapore. It was the start of the ‘Circuit Breakers’.

On 3rd April 2020, PM Lee announced a new set of measures put into place to stop the spread of the virus. This resulted in the closure of all non-essential stores. Consumers were also banned from dining-in at food outlets and had to opt for the takeaway option if they wish to purchase food outside.

The situation was surreal as the ever-so bustling Singapore entered a never before seen state of desolation. Our hawkers and malls which have oft been too crowded transformed into ghost towns even during peak hours. If you’ve been busy cooped up in the comfort of your home, here’s a glimpse of what the outside world looks like right now.
