7th April 2020 was the beginning of a new era for Singapore. It was the start of the ‘Circuit Breakers’.
On 3rd April 2020, PM Lee announced a new set of measures put into place to stop the spread of the virus. This resulted in the closure of all non-essential stores. Consumers were also banned from dining-in at food outlets and had to opt for the takeaway option if they wish to purchase food outside.
The situation was surreal as the ever-so bustling Singapore entered a never before seen state of desolation. Our hawkers and malls which have oft been too crowded transformed into ghost towns even during peak hours.
