PARK(ing) Day 2017 falls on 16 September 2017 this year and it aims to turn your typical parking spot in the Bugis-Kampong Glam precinct into a cultural festival, all in the confines of a small space.
Anything can happen here, from a wedding ceremony to a pedal powered smoothie stand, it’s up to your creativity so let it run wild!
PARK(ing) Day is a global movement that encourages members of the community to fill urban parking lots into spaces that exude public expressions and community impact.
Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD) were the pioneers of the PARK(ing) Day in Singapore when they attempted a little experiment to rethink public spaces in our city, and now it has become a nationwide movement participated by people from all walks of life.
Fancy giving back to the community and rebuilding that kampung spirit? You can become a contributor! However, registration for this year’s iteration is over so polish the idea for the next one that falls on the third Saturday of September every year.
Grab a friend for an afternoon merry around and awe in amazement at all the brilliant ideas that Singaporeans have whizzed up!
Date & Time: 16 September 2017, 11am – 9pm
