For less than S$2k per month, you can stay in a fully furnished shophouse

I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to relive our colonial days in a shophouse and to reminisce the good ole’ era when our colonisers acquired political control over Singapore and economically exploited us. I kid, I’m not here to fight—I just want a cute apartment.

And while my shophouse home dreams are currently impossible seeing how I don’t even have cash for a BTO downpayment, renting one for a month or two comes as a close alternative.

Figment is a Singaporean company that offers a fully furnished suite to renters in some of the city’s trendiest neighbourhoods. The interior is inspired by local art, architecture, and design—so you can leave the stress of decorating to them.

At Figment, weekly cleaning and maintenance services are included in the price, so think of it as a serviced apartment, but hella aesthetic. Each resident will also enjoy state-fo-the-art technology like 5G Wifi, Sonos sound systems, and Smart TVs.

It’s not difficult to quickly fall in love with the aesthetics of these quaint little shophouses. This one definitely passes the vibe check.

Rent currently starts from S$1,940 per month.
