I’m sure the nation collectively groaned when PM Lee announced the four-week extension of the current circuit breaker measures. At this point, we’ve been confined to our homes for three weeks, slowly but surely getting used to our extended time indoors.
Here at Hype & Stuff, we’re always trying our best to help you get past these extraordinary times with suggestions of what you can do at home during your spare time. From workouts, entertaining reads on how Singapore adapts to life with COVID-19, to Netflix Mondays—our weekly Netflix recommendations to make sure you never run out of things to watch.
Today I bring you the world of virtual travelling, where you’ll get to visit the Netherlands and feast your eyes on the beautiful vibrant colours of their Tulips. Keukenhof Holland, a spring park, brings Tulips to visitors from all over the world when the flower blooms in Spring. With the Netherlands Government disallowing groups of more than 100 people gathering at one time, Keukenhof decided to bring the flowers to the people instead—by shooting a video showcasing this year’s blooms.
On top of beautiful visuals, escape reality with their in-depth tours and learn interesting facts about the Tulips.
If you prefer something other than flowers, House Beautiful has also compiled a list of videos of train rides, allowing you to explore some of the most scenic train ride views, virtually from the comfort of your home.
I know that staying home is hard, but I hope that you will take this time indoors to challenge yourself on how you can keep yourself entertained and know that you’re not alone. Let’s stay socially responsible and push through these times. I’m sure when COVID-19’s over, we will find a new sense of appreciating the things we’ve previously taken for granted.
