Want to be part of a fun-filled event that promotes sustainability? If you do, mark your calendar for 12 February 2017 because EarthFest is back with its second edition this 2017.
Held at Marina Barrage from 11am – 3.30pm, this rain or shine event will feature a Farmer’s Market with a variety of delicious new-age foods that are healthy yet planet-friendly. Other sustainable products from local businesses will also be present at the scene.
This eco-carnival has a whole slew of other activities including Swapoholic Day. Hosted by Swagalls, attendees can drop off clothes on 5 or 8 February to enter the clothing swap area where they can trade apparel from 11am to 3.30pm on the event day itself.
There will also be a station for the swapping of books and DVDs at the Secondsguru stall on the deck behind the EarthStage. All items should be in relatively good condition, so try not to show up with tattered books or scratched DVDs.
In addition, there are a bunch of upcycling activities that you can take up at the Marketfair for $20: try your hand at creating an upcycled umbrella bag, owl bag charm and soda can/magazine jewellery.
While you’re there, you can also soak in some feel good vibes as local talents provide live entertainment with their music.
If you’re interested in learning more about the climate and how sustainability works, you can also attend several talks from the likes of the Singapore Youth for Climate Action, Animal Allies and many more! Do note that seats for these will be on a first come first served basis.
EarthFest 2017 is all about inspiring positivity and allowing different individuals to come together to make the change as we work towards creating a sustainably modern future.
