Disney has played quite an integral role in most of our childhoods. Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of these productions from Walt Disney Animation Studios?
Well, get ready to unravel the magic as Disney: Magic of Animation The Exhibition at Singapore’s Art Science Museum reveals the inner workings of these animated works and even a never before seen secret.
Making its debut in South East Asia on 26 October 2019, Disney: Magic of Animation is a showcase of more than 500 exceptional art pieces, including original drawings, paintings, and concepts curated by the Walt Disney Animation Research Library over the past 90 years.
This exhibition pays homage to the artistry and technological innovation that brought these iconic characters, from classics and blockbuster hits such as The Lion King and Frozen, to life. You will also be able to take a look at how Disney Animation developed its numerous animation techniques through the years to create characters on different scales of difficulties.
There are galleries to showcase how animators start with two-dimensional illustrations and eventually turn it into the ‘live’ animations that we are so enthralled by on the big screen. The entire history and the growth of animation technology can be seen throughout the galleries and it will be a sight for you to marvel at.
One main highlight that you should take note of is the collection of never-before-seen original artworks from the yet to be released Frozen 2.
This exhibition takes place in the Singapore Art Science Museum which is fully equipped with beautiful projections, audio-visual displays, and interactive activities to captivate visitors and fully transport you to the world of Disney.
It will truly be an in-depth insight into the evolution of childhood shows we grew up with and I cannot wait to visit.
