The electronic gaming experience in the world has undergone radical change as technology advances and with the boom of online gaming.
E-sports has become so popular to the extent that Japan has decided to launch an entire e-sports themed hotel, e-ZONe Denno Kukan, come April 2020. Although not the first e-sports hotel in Asia, this is nevertheless a big step for the gaming community being recognized as a legit sport.
The brand new e-sports hotel will be opening in the downtown Nipponbashi district of Osaka, the main city where Japan’s famed game developers are located in. This new hotel consists of eight storeys of which the first third floors are solely catered to gaming (like a massive lan shop) and the top five floors are where the guest rooms are located.
To give an immersive experience in the world of gaming, over 70 high-spec PCs and live-streaming equipment can be found in the gaming floors where competitions and events are also held, based off a gaming arena concept.
With such facilities available, gamers can occupy themselves in proper gaming environments without any ‘distractions’.
The guestrooms will also be fitted with computers in each room, alongside futuristic interior designs that make it seem as though you are living in a virtual world. Gamers who prefer to have more personal space can still engage in games from this personal computer although the arena floors will provide better live communication for team games since everyone is in the same room.
e-ZONe Denno Kukan’s accommodation is definitely a unique twist to the typical hotels that we are used to staying at. It is perfect for gamers who are planning to compete in tournaments held in Japan or for someone who is planning to dip their toes in the e-sporting world.
