It sure is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially after our team has gone to Gardens by the Bay’s annual Christmas Wonderland on opening day this 2019.
If you’re like me and you come alive in this time of year, allow me to present to you a first look at 10 things to do while you’re at Christmas Wonderland for you to make full use of your ticket.
1. Luminarie Light Sculptures
Did you know that the 21-metre tall Spalliera was inspired by the iconic towers of San Gimignano in Tuscany, Italy? I didn’t too. Be mesmerised by grand luminarie light sculpture which is also recognised as Asia’s tallest luminarie Christmas tree. Impressive, huh?
2. Meadow Theatre

3. Santa’s Workshop
Ever dreamed of meeting our Father Christmas AKA Santa Claus? Now you can at Santa’s Workshop without having to take a trip down to the North Pole. Be sure to take a photo with Santa before he takes his annual trip to deliver his presents. Were you on the naughty or nice list?
4. Blizzard Time presented by Häagen-Dazs
Sadly, here in sunny Singapore, we’ll never get to experience snow in the winter. But with Blizzard Time, you’ll catch a small glimpse of what snow might be like. Totally, Instagram-worthy too. Just be really careful because the aftermath of it is pretty messy and slippery. There are fixed timings for the foam snow to start falling, so check the schedule!
5. Festive Market @ Supertree Grove
Shop till you drop and eat till your bellies’ full at the European-style Festive Market. Ooh la la. You’ll find anything from crafts and gifts, from brands like The Everyday Club to food and beverage from Street Food Circus. There are even some Christmas Wonderland exclusives.
6. Christmas Tree Cafe @ The Meadow
Treat yourself to a delicious curated by some of Singapore’s trendiest dining establishments from Burger & Lobster, Mr White, Tonito and many more. You definitely need some good grub after those long walks from end to end.
7. Carnival Games and Rides
You’ll find 18 traditional carnival games and rides including Mini Viking, Bumper Cars. A little bit more expensive than rides you’ll find at the pasar malam but hey, it’s all for the ambience right?
8. Poinsettia Wishes
Take a trip all across the seas to the Nordic countries at Gardens by the Bay’s Poinsettia Wishes decorative display without catching a flight. You’ll find a sea of poinsettias and winter blooms in shades of red, blue, yellow and white, a lovely choir of Nordic gnomes called Nisse that further adds to the festive cheer. How beautiful.
9. Festive Entertainment
Get into the Yuletide cheer and ring in the new year with a curated entertainment line-up, including choral performances, merry tunes from some of Singapore’s finest talents, light and sound shows as well as ‘snow’. You’ll find Garden Rhapsody- The Christmas Special, Christmas Parade, Yuletide Sessions and Christmas Carols Singing.
10. Walk of Peace
Inspired by the glow of the sunset at the gardens, these light installations offer visitors an immersive illuminated experience. Plus, it’s also a great backdrop to take photos against.
I promise you while the crowd and the extra expense might put you off, it’s definitely worth a trip down to Gardens By The Bay to breath in the Yuletide cheer.
Come on, live a little and revel in the festivities of one of Singapore’s most popular year-end holiday events.
