No matter the age, I’m sure anyone has a soft spot for toys. If you want to rekindle your childhood, definitely check out Choking Hazard, a toy-themed showcase at Kult Gallery.
On exhibition from 17 February to 18 March 2017, the works of 30 artists and toy makers will be featured at the underground art studio itself.
But what’s so special about this? Well, the toys on display are not just any toys; inspired by the waste of mass production and over consumption, these artists have dismantled existing toys and pieced different parts into new objects altogether.
If you pop by the gallery, do be sure to stop by the ‘Toy Disassembly’ section where you get to create your own art from an assortment of pre-loved toys that can be taken apart and re-sculpted. At this specially designated corner, visitors will get to channel the inner artist within and take home handcrafted masterpieces thereafter.
One thing’s for sure, there’s certainly no warning that comes with the Choking Hazard exhibition.
Event Date: 17 February – 18 March 2017
