Last weekend, I savoured every bit of Pangdemonium’s production—LATE COMPANY—over dinner with my family. I thought it was the last time I was going to watch the amazing cast before I can catch their electrifying performance on the stage at the end of Circuit Breaker.
But no, Pangdemonium is giving me more fangirl squeals this coming weekend by sharing another of their play online, called DRAGONFLIES.
DRAGONFLIES is an apt show to our current situation. During this pandemic season, many of us are cooped at our homes and distancing ourselves from one another. Similarly, this production has ingeniously brought light to the issues of migration, xenophobia, and alienation within a world in crisis.
The compelling play is hitting our screens on Vimeo from 8 May 2020, 8 pm, to 14 May 2020, 11:59 pm.
As we indulge ourselves in yet-another one of Pangdemonium’s sterling production in the comfort of our real homes, let’s take this time to be grateful to those who are “home quarantine” far away from theirs while they built our safety nests. The show is a strong reminder that though we are trapped in an unrelentingly difficult time, one should not live in despair but hope.
Also, DRAGONFLIES was given an Advisory 16 rating (some mature content and coarse language); so do be mindful if you have little children in your household.
There’s an unspoken beauty of theatrical arts that nails the theme on social reality—so personally yet so subtly. Thanks to Pangdemonium, I think I am coming out of Circuit Breaker a more cultured person.
Last but not least, we all love the generosity! Do consider making a love offering to Pangdemonium during this challenging time if your circumstances permit.
