If you are a budding artist or an art lover of the fictional world of comics and Dōjinshi (self-published works especially for Manga) you will be excited to know that Alternate Universe Singapore will be having a convention on the 21 September 2019 at Suntec Convention Centre.

Alternate Universe Singapore is the brainchild of JRPencil with Kuhl Notes later brought in as a partner. The idea behind Alternate Universe Singapore is aimed at creating an event/marketplace with a low barrier of entry for budding artists who are interested in showcasing and selling their self-made artwork to fans.
Alternate Universe Singapore has participated in various events held around the world such as Anime Expo in Los Angeles and Comiket in Japan and they believe that their experiences as artists would better aid in organizing a more artist-centric event in Singapore.

Up to 60 artists will be present at this event and there will be a wide variety of art pieces for you to admire at including local designers D.atlas who kickstarted the medicinal Pokemon pins. Ranging from basic art sketches to the incorporation of such sketches into keychains and stickers are just some of the many items that you can purchase for your own personal collection. This event is free of charge so there will not be any admission fee to attend it.

It is interesting to see this kind of conventions taking place in Singapore as it allows creators and fans alike to gather and share their love for this particular comic art expression. I believe if you are a fan of collecting such fanart items that have been inspired by fictional characters, you should pay a visit to Alternate Universe Singapore.
Opening Hours: 21 September 2019, 11 A.M. – 6 P.M.
