Youths in Singapore will not find the sound of “thrifting” new and unfamiliar to them. Whether you enjoy browsing the racks on stores or through sellers on Instagram and Carousell, we can all agree that it is the Singaporean nature to like to get something for cheap. Hence the trend of thrifting.
But there’s a problem with browsing through sellers on Instagram. While we may be busy with our studies, work, or military commitments, we may miss some good articles of clothing due to not being able to open up the app, or our fingers simply aren’t fast enough to “cop” these steals and another buyer has bought it already.

Well, fret not, because Instagram users Justin @jiggythings.vtg and Shane @cherub_____ (5 underscores) are bringing you Balestier Fashion Week, a pop-up thrift shop happening on 12 June 2019, 12pm at Balestier Road.

Justin has promised over 50 designer jackets, and constant restocks so potential buyers will not have the disappointment of empty racks when they visit. He will also be selling some of his personal items from brands such as Yohji, Kapital, and Rick Owens.

When asked on the items he will be bringing to the popup, Justin said that he will be bringing in “a lot of vintage graphic T-shirts, brandwise, a lot of Champion, Fila, and other designer brands such as YSL, Balenciaga and Valentino. But for this popup, I will be focusing on bringing faded black T-shirts in so hopefully my followers appreciate it as much as I do.”
This is not the first time that both of them have collaborated for a physical pop-up, their first collaboration being earlier in March this year. Both of them will also be doing giveaways so be sure to follow their Instagram pages for more information.
See you at Balestier Fashion Week, because I’m not gonna sit around on Instagram when I can browse the items in person.
