For budding local musicians who want to showcase your skills and talent on a bigger stage, you should be excited about this piece of news. The Great Singapore Replay is back for its second edition and you can stand a chance to take the stage and work with some of Singapore’s finest artists to create songs inspired by iconic tunes and eras of Singapore’s history.

This biennial event, presented by Temasek, is about the discovery of Singapore’s rich music heritage and collaboration between both established artists and the next generation of aspiring young local talents to create original ‘Made-in-Singapore’ songs. With support by major music labels such as Sony Music and Universal Music, this season’s participants can look forward to songwriting camps, production, recording, and releasing these songs on popular online streaming platforms such as Spotify and Soundcloud.

10 music talents will have the opportunity to be guided by Charlie Lim, Joanna Dong, Kelly Pan, Sezairi and Shabir in creating 10 new original songs this season.
This new season will span 16 weeks and it starts with an Open Call from now till 20 October 2019 where ten music talents will be selected through an open call submission of music videos. Participation is open to all residents of Singapore and those selected will be notified by the end of October 2019.
‘Made-in-Singapore’ music takes on a new spin as members of the public will be invited to vote for their favourite mashup as an inspiration source for the season’s original song creations. The public can vote for their favourite mashups at TGSR’s website or at roadshow locations from 21 October to 10 November 2019.
This will all culminate in a showcase concert to be held on 18 January 2020 at Gardens by the Bay where their original songs will be performed.
Give some support to our local acts and for those who are interested, you can start submitting your music videos here.
