“That’s when you know you’ve found somebody special. When you can just shut the f*ck up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence.”
Pulp Fiction is one film you shouldn’t miss. Aired in 1994, it’s an American neo-noir, black comedy crime film that’s gathered critical acclaim, and quite a following.
The Singapore Open Air Cinema Club has organised an exclusive screening this 3 February 2017 at The Hive, so you and your mates can marvel at this iconic film on the big screen once more.
The film is directed by Quentin Tarantino, who is known for his penchant for violence, prolonged dialogue and non linear narrative in his films. Pulp Fiction features all of the above mentioned traits and a star-studded cast.
The film title is a cheeky reference to the pulp magazines and hardboiled crime novels that were the ‘it’ thing to read in the mid-20th century. And yes, these featured graphic, violent and punchy dialogues.
Pulp Fiction tells of intersecting storylines of the mobsters and criminals of Los Angeles and is known for its iconic quotes, regularly referenced till this day.
The screening is set for 7:30pm and tickets are going at $18, with a beer or soft drink and a snack included. Tickets are selling like hotcakes though, so camp on the website to lock yours down!
