The best music was a time wayyyy before Millennial-music makers flooded the scene – I’m talking 50’s to 80’s. But in 2009, this incredibly talented music guy, Scott Bradlee, started recording music in his living room that has now reached millions of people world-wide.
And he, and the entire Postmodern Jukebox lot are coming to Singapore, performing for one night only on 6 October 2017.
Rearranging music to take on a more “oldies” twist, Postmodern Jukebox performs top hits done in a variety of old-school genres. Swing, Jazz, Blues – except still keeping (sometimes) senseless lyrics like “I’m a barbie girl, in a barbie world”.
Basically, you get the poppiest pop hits redone in a Vintage-styled piece, complete with music videos where everyone looks the part. If you guys have been wondering how your parents now know the lyrics to Nicki Minaj’s Anaconda, this is probably why.
Pull those faux furcoats out the closet and put on your grandmother’s pearls because this is one night you deserve to bask in. Expect an hour and a half of music that’ll swing from soulful to…well, Swing.
If you’re reading this and still need convincing, check out Postmodern Jukebox’s mind-blowing and heartwrenching rendition of Say Something.
Date & Time: 6 October 2017, 8pm
