I know I speak for many when I say that the tragic death of Linkin Park‘s lead singer Chester Bennington last July 2017 came as much of a shock.
The band’s tunes were my source of catharsis during my days of teenage angst, and hearing how my childhood hero ended his life from depression shook me to my core.
But our grief must pale in comparison to that of his bandmate and longtime friend, Mike Shinoda. In the months following Chester’s death, Shinoda immersed himself in his music as a way of processing his grief, releasing the Post Traumatic EP, a collection of deeply personal songs, in January 2018.
Shinoda has now hit the road on his Post Traumatic Tour to showcase his new music and celebrate the life of his dear friend. This 22 August 2018, his first ever solo tour comes to Singapore at Zepp@BIGBOX Singapore.
While Shinoda is slated to perform more of his solo music, the performance will definitely include Linkin Park favourites such as “In the end” and “Waiting for the end”. In the meantime, you can listen to Shinoda’s hard-hitting and moving Post Traumatic EP. I guarantee no eye will remain dry.
Chester Bennington may be gone, but his legacy will live on in his music. So jio all your friends for an event that is more than just a concert; it’s a celebration of the memories and life of a musician, bandmate and friend.
