Are you afraid of the ocean and the kind of creatures it brings? Perhaps this beautiful exhibition will ease your fears.
Wu Yanrong’s Marine Fantastic – An Illustrated Introduction to Crustaceans aims to inspire a love for mother nature and marine life.
A Singaporean illustrator, Yanrong became curious about the ocean when she found out that humans have actually only explored less than five percent of the sea. She then started painting the living creatures that dwell along the bottom of the ocean – particularly crustaceans, as she found them fascinating.

But painting shrimps and crabs is not the only things she’s good at. She designed amazing window displays for the Hermès store at Ngee Ann City, staying true to the theme of underwater life.
Yanrong likes to work with traditional methods rather than going digital. She paints with a simple brush and poster paint, admiring the organic results that it provides.

From now till 17 December 2017, be sure to check out the awesome illustrations by Wu Yanrong at K+, Scotts Square. You’ll probably never see a plate of chilli crab the same way again.
