Louis Vuitton (LV) launched a stylish Silver Lockit bracelet on 21 February as part of its partnership with UNICEF. The bracelet was designed by LV’s Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh—featuring the designer’s signature bold chains, this time in silver, linked to a thicker, colourful cord, Louis Vuitton charm and engraved padlock.
Despite its minimalistic design, the bracelet is still pretty conspicuous, adding an additional dimension to the existing collection of bracelets. Inspired by Virgil Abloh’s Spring-Summer 2020 runway collection, the Silver Lockits come in four snazzy colourways: black, orange, celadon green and a blue with hints of yellow.
In light of the #MAKEAPROMISE campaign, LV is devoted to raising awareness and funds for UNICEF in order to offer assistance and support to vulnerable children around the globe. By purchasing the Silver Lockit designed by Virgil Abloh, clients have the opportunity to provide aid for UNICEF’s work in disaster-affected countries as well as reaching children in at-risk conditions.
Since its launch, the Louis Vuitton for UNICEF partnership has raised nearly USD$10,000,000 (S$13,967,300) so far. With the debut of the LV Silver Lockit series, S$100 is donated from every accessory that’s sold. The proceeds will aid UNICEF’s efforts to provide access to water, sanitation, nutrition, education, health and protection to children in areas such as Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe.
The Virgil Abloh designed UNICEF x LV Silver Lockit Bracelet is priced at S$595 and is available February 21, 2020 onwards online and at LV locations. If it’s within your means, grab one now to show your support for this meaningful cause.
