If you are an aspiring filmmaker and have always wanted to have your work featured on the big screens, you better listen up.
As part of its 25th-anniversary celebratory scheme, Golden Village has launched the GV25 Film Shorts to encourage young local filmmakers to create short films. This competition will allow applicants a chance to work and collaborate with veterans of the industry – directors Kelvin Tong and Boris Boo.
The theme for the competition is “Past, Present & Future” and interested applicants are required to submit an original film storyline befitting the theme. Applicants will be assessed according to a predetermined point system, in which the top eight shortlisted films will then go through the Judging Panel – made up of Boris Boo, Kelvin Tong, President of the Singapore Film Society Kenneth Tan, Youtuber Tree Potatoes and Golden Village – before the top three are selected.
Three successful applicants will walk away with a grant of $2,000 each and vie for the chance to have their film screened in GV cineplexes islandwide. The eventual lucky winner will walk away with an additional cash prize of $3000.
You’ve got to be 16 years old and above to participate in this competition. If you fit the aforementioned criteria and have been wanting an opportunity to shine, hurry and sign up now! Submission closes this 31 May 2017.
