An Islander’s Guide To Sentosa’s Magical Shores At Siloso Starting 23 Jan

Starting 23 January 2020, Sentosa‘s beach-goers will get to catch the Magical Shores at Siloso, an addition to the island’s already bustling landscape. It is Singapore’s first beach light attraction, where play and art meet in the middle.

Spanning across 400 metres of the Siloso Beach, guests can experience vivid light, sound and mist effects, some of which are interactive. Adults and young ones alike can enjoy the ethereal experience that will happen every night from 7.30pm to 10.30pm, in 15 minute cycles.

Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister for Trade and Industry and Education, officially opened the attraction on the evening of 22 Jan, marking the beginning of the next step for Sentosa as they continue to strive towards creating the best experiences for guests.

Here’s a look at the key acts you can catch at Magical Shores at Siloso:

1. Nocturnal Awakening

In this attraction, special effects are projected onto the sand, and guests can interact with the visuals by stepping in various spots of the projection. Look out for calming elements such as water flow, marine creatures and iridescent waves that change and bend whenever you come into contact on them.

It was so immersive, my colleague and I got a little too carried away watching the elements change. Before we knew it, we were the only ones left still prancing around in the sand.

2. Islet Whispers

Both mysterious and magnificent, the Islet Whispers features a cloud of fog and lights flowing over the waters, enveloping the scenery. An experience that engages your various senses, it’s easy to close your eyes and get lost in fantasy for just a little bit.

3. Force of Nature

It’s not everyday you get to watch the trees come alive at night as a light and sound symphony take over the space. The lights change their colours to match the music’s intensity, creating the illusion of nature dancing in one accord.

4. New Peaks

We’ve touched on the sand, flora and waters, and now what’s left is none other than the skies. In a spell-bounding flourish of hues, multi-coloured beams light up the night sky—truly a sight to behold.

With all these attractions working in tandem to tingle your senses, you’ll find that the Magical Shores at Siloso light show makes for the perfect spot for family fun, a date with someone special, or simply alone time to wind down after a busy day.

How to get there:

By walking: Sentosa Boardwalk from VivoCity | Free

By monorail: Board the Sentosa Express from VivoCity, Level 3 and alight at Beach Station | S$4 per pax, but selected TransitLink concession card holders enjoy 50% off the transport fares.

By bus: Ride SBS Transit’s Bus 123 and alight at Beach Station | Prevailing distance-based bus fares apply, no island admission fee.

By car: Drive in via the Sentosa Gateway for $2 after 5pm, and park at Beach Station | Parking fee at $0.02/min before 5pm, $2.40 per entry from 5pm – 7pm.

By cable car: Board the cable car at Mount Faber or HarbourFront Tower 2 | S$22/child, S$33/adult
