If you know me, you’d know I hate the thought of looking old. Yeah, growing old is inevitable but I just pretend like it’s not. Right now, there’s a new mobile phone filter trend going around where you can transform yourself into an older you called FaceApp.
All you have to do is download FaceApp from your app store or Play store. The app has a free trial period of three days. From there, you can choose which photo you wanna use to virtually age yourself. Other free filters include giving you a toothy smile and switching genders.
I asked my fellow writers at Hype&Stuff to try it out just out of curiosity. My friend Tres (in the above photo and Julian in the photos below). This aging app has gone pretty viral in Singapore due to its realistic virtual age augmentation, with many citizens sharing their results on social media platforms.
I don’t know if I like looking at the photo of me looking like an old fart. But its aiite its all for laughs.

There are 21 free filters in the basic version while the Pro version (USD $19.99 for a lifetime subscription) includes 28 filters that can change your facial features completely with just one tap.
Some privacy concerns have arisen on what data Russian-owned FaceApp creators can collect once you download and agree to use their app – take note of what information you’re giving away even if you just want to have some fun with the app.
