Taking place from 31 May to 2 June 2019 at The Promontory@Marina Bay, DBS Marina Regatta 2019 will feature chock-full of activities for the public to enjoy such as delectable F&B stalls by next-generation hawkerpreneurs, Singapore’s largest eco-maze, and signature dragon boat competition.
In partnership with the Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA), the DBS Marina Regatta will be hosting its 8th edition of the international dragon boating competition.
A total of 100 teams from eight countries from across Asia-Pacific and North America will be battling it out for the combined prize purse of S$115,ooo. Asia’s largest prize purse for a dragon boating competition!
Well, there’s also a mini fair for guests other than just watching the race.
This year, the DBS Marina Regatta aims to raise awareness on environmental issues and to inspire people to make more eco-friendly choices.
Through the activities and interactive exhibitions, festivalgoers will be able to learn about sustainability and how to make more eco-friendly choices.
The Dome
Certain parts of the event, like The Dome, will be powered by 100 solar panels installed by Sunseap, a sustainable energy provider.
Race The Maze
The festival will be featuring Singapore’s largest outdoor eco-maze. This 23,000 sq ft maze is made out of 95% recycled materials, mainly compressed straw derived from agricultural crops.
In this maze, participants have a time limit of 12 minutes to race against each other in a series of physical and mental challenges that revolve around the environment and sustainability.
Those who complete 7 out of the 10 challenges will receive a sustainability gift pack. Participants can up sign up for free online or during the event.
Food and Music
Enjoy the musical talents of more than 20 young local buskers while chugging a couple of drinks at the festivals’s pop-up Jim Beam Highball Bar.
Festivalgoers can feast on churros, rainbow tea, seafood, local hawker food including carrot cake, as well as sliders from Impossible Burgers! Don’t stress out, there will be something for everyone.
