Art is something that transcends time, and the masterpieces shown at National Gallery Singapore will amaze you with the range of painting styles by decorated European and Asian artists.
Century of Light is an exhibition that will allow you to get acquainted with 19th century artworks. With works by Claude Monet, Édouard Manet, Juan Luna, and Auguste Renoir, this is truly an exhibition to behold.
The exhibition is separated into two different displays.
Colours of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay, focuses on the colours that the artists used as they progressed through different stages in their painting careers.
Expect to see a masterful play on colours with over 60 pieces of work at this display, like Auguste Renoir’s Gabrielle à la rose and Claude Monet’s Le Bassin aux nymphéas, harmonie rose.
The second display is Between Worlds: Raden Saleh and Juan Luna, showcasing the works by Indonesian painter Raden Saleh and Filipino artist Juan Luna.
