#BuySingLit is back, making 2020 the 4th year of this movement. #BuySingLit is an industry-led initiative, encouraging locals to support their fellow writers. This year, participants will be treated to an exciting sensory experience of Singapore Literature with all five senses.

From gem biscuit making, music performances, dramatic readings, and writing workshops, be prepared to be exposed to a whole different perspective on local literature. With more than 60 programmes held over two weekends from 6-8 and 13-15 March 2020, get lost and fully immerse yourself in all things local.
Some programmes include SingLit Power House, in which attendees will explore the different visual landscapes and soundscapes of Singapore Literature. Submerge yourself in the mixed medium installations in the history-rich red-brick Pasir Panjang Power Station from 6-7 March 2020.

For our Bahasa Melayu speakers, explore the beauty of Malay Singapore Literature with Pesta Buku Melayu Singapura (Singapore Malay Book Fair). A three-day book fair from 6-8 March 2020, located at Wisma Geylang Seri. There will be loads of activities such as Malay poetry recitals, book discussions, pantun (Malay poetic form) and comic workshops, and storytelling sessions for younger readers. Non-Melayu speakers can join in the fun as well as both bilingual and Bahasa Melayu books will be sold.
Glorious, Monstrous, Hantu Tales from Singapore, presented by Cake Theatrical Productions brings you thrilling stories by combining film, writing and live performance to ensure a visceral experience for the viewer. Haunting contemporary works such as Nuraliah Norasid’s The Gatekeeper, Lee Jing-Jing’s How We Disappeared, Sharlene Teo’s Ponti, Cyril Wong’s Let Me Tell You Something About That Night, and O Thiam Chin’s Fox Fire Girl are the stories that will be told during this production.
With the aim of portraying Singapore’s more darker but no less magnificent side of literature, Glorious, Monstrous, Hantu Tales from Singapore is definitely not something to miss. This production will be held on 6-7 March 2020 at the Pasir Panjang Power Station, with tickets going at S$15 a pop.
