Following the overwhelming popularity of its first brick & mortar in Orchard Central Mall, We The People Store, the world’s only funded-with-Kickstarter-
From 25 March 2017 onward, come and check out the new workshop area, space for designers, cafe and of course the retail area that we’ve all come to love!
The workshop has two purposes which includes providing a space for product-based activities like the assembly of Ugears mechanical models. Secondly, it’s where sharing sessions with Kickstarter campaign creators will be hosted.
This will give customers and those interested in starting their own crowdfunding campaigns insight into the trials and tribulations involved. That would be a nice reminder for everyone that not every idea is a good idea.
However, with an area for the exchange of knowledge and ideas, this could be the beginning of a hotbed for innovation.
The designer space acts as a market-testing platform and allows budding entrepreneurs to gain feedback about their product’s design and pricing from potential customers. It’s real-time feedback and a nice human touch with all the crowdfunding that’s going on in digital space.
The retail section is very much like the original We The People Store at Orchard Central. While e-commerce is great, we still itch to touch and feel products before parting ways with our hard earned cash — especially for newcomers to the market.
Besides spurring the growth of local Kickstarter innovation, the space brings in three to five new international brands every month.
A cafe, because everyone has one! While a cafe area within a retail space is nothing crazily innovative, it’s a nice place to chill, kick back and dial things back a notch or two.
Only to rev it back up as you try out the interactive coffee brewing lab, where you’ll be able to choose how you’d like your cuppa crafted using coffee-related Kickstarter products.
