In mid-2017, Singaporeans bid a bittersweet farewell to our oldest flea market, the Sungei Road Market (better known as the Thieves Market). However, the tenacious vendors have since then banded together and found a temporary new home in Woodlands Recreation Center.
From now till 6 May 2018, head down on the weekends to show your support for the displaced vendors at this heritage flea market!
We’ve seen some goods being sold at seriously affordable prices, like a vase going for just S$1.
This flea market is great if you’re into thrift-shopping or if you’re hunting for vintage pieces. With the wide assortment of items, ranging from household items to jewellery and antiques, there’s sure to be something that’ll catch your fancy.
Even if you’re not looking for anything in particular, just go down and show your support for the vendors! It’s brave and admirable of them to have overcome the adversities and found themselves a new home.
Make the trek for the sake of nostalgia :’)
