Sole Superior 2016: 5 Reasons To Go Sole Searching at SG’s Largest Sneaker Event

The best of sneakers return to Singapore’s most beloved strip of tarmac, Jiak Kim Street. Come 12 November 2016, Sole Superior will have sneakerheads descending upon Zouk, take this as your cue to make the pilgrimage to revel in the best of the street culture, including getting inked for free.

An event for all with no age restrictions, Sole Superior’s latest instalment looks set to be an afternoon of not only sole seeking but, a convention of street and sneaker culture of international scales. With so much set to go down, here are a few things that are sure to make it to the highlight reels.

1. Tattoo Flash Events

What will last longer, a well-kept pair of sneakers or ink under your skin?  At this year’s edition of Sole Superior, you can put that to the test. Tattoo flash events never fail to draw a crowd, and Sole Superior intends to bump it up a notch, offering free ink by artists Alfrey Koh (Alfreytattoo) and Kelvin Chow (Kelvinmonster), from a selection of artwork on Sole Superior 2016’s flash sheet by local artists Tell Your Children.

2. Die Die Must Buy Sneakers and Goods

It only rolls through once a year, and every year Sole Superior brings and delivers on the goods. Sneakers aside, exclusive event merchandise will be available as well.

Look out for event capsules by local label and designer, Pras The Bandit. Bigger will be better, as Sole Superior and Pras The Bandit fill this year’s capsule with things to adorn yourself with, like caps and embroidered military jackets, as well as items for adorning your home, with the Sole Superior X Pras The Bandit carpet.

3. Deck The Void Decks

Fresh off decking out (the decks of) REAL Skateboards with his graphics in September, Singaporean illustrator and skater Mister Tucks will have 30 graphic t-shirts in collaboration with Sole Superior, available at the event.

4. Queue Like A King/Queen

The Sole Superior Camping Chair – think of this as foldable and compact irony. Designed for the great outdoors, in this case the urban jungle, you’ll be able to partake in queuing for the latest sneaker drops, clothing releases and more in both style and comfort.

The three way collaboration between Sole Superior, outdoor lifestyle brand Terrainware and craftsman FIN will have your fellow men and women laud you come your next queue.

Limited to 30 pieces, now available for purchase at Terrainware

5. Live Music at Iconic Zouk One Last Time

It wouldn’t be right to have an event at the venerable Zouk without an equally banging set to boot. Be ready for bass heavy music that will reverberate right through to your soul, and soles, by Wav(y).

As 2016 comes to an end, Zouk’s move away from Jiak Kim Street draws ever closer. If there ever was a time to head down to this iconic local establishment (in the day), this would be it. Get your tickets, and we’ll see you there come 12 November 2016.

Date & Time: 12th November 2016, 1pm-7pm
