Those who love reminiscing about the good ol’ days of basketball will definitely appreciate this relaunch—some might even remember the OG LA Gear Slammer. It goes without saying that this basketball-inspired mid-top sneaker was a huge hit back in 1988 when it first dropped.
L.A. Gear’s basketball sneakers were an icon of its generation, and this time it’s making a comeback with a more inclusive twist. Yep, basketball sneakers for women.
It retains its defining mid-top retro basketball detail, lined with coloured accents. The vintage-style L.A. Gear print logo spans across the heel panel, but has been updated to feature Skechers’ Air Cooled Memory Foam comfort insole. Pair these fresh kicks with skinny jeans or joggers for the full hype aesthetic, or just wear it with whatever you want really—it’s bound to look good still.
The Skechers X L.A. Gear Slammer (S$129) is available in sizes US 5-11 in three colours—Black, White, as well as White & Light Pink.
