Get ready to groove because Flamenco Sin Fronteras, a flamenco dance school in Singapore, is bringing the Singapore Flamenco Festival back this year from 12 to 28 May 2017.
When most people think of flamenco, they think of Spanish women in long, layered red dresses who dance to lively music. But did you know that flamenco isn’t just about dancing, but also about singing and guitar playing?
The Singapore Flamenco Festival will be bringing you the full experience, with a little bit of everything – we’re talking dance performances, workshops, and even a carnival.
The festival will kickstart with Elements, an original flamenco performance by Flamenco Sin Fronteras, from 12 to 14 May 2017. The flamenco performances this year are a lot more unique as they are infused with Chinese poetry, dance moves, and music.
But if you want to experience flamenco sans the fusion, sign up for the guitar or singing workshops on 13 May; or take part in La Feria de Singapore, a free flamenco carnival at Kallang Community Centre from 27 to 28 May.
