Sneakerheads, looks like we have a new kid on the block.
Shoelution is a newly established, one-stop centre for all things sneakers, located at 123 Bukit Merah Lane which is a stone’s throw from Queensway Shopping Centre. The main business is sneaker cleaning but don’t let that fool you.
Founder, Aaron Tan, has vast knowledge on everything sneakers and plans on becoming Singapore’s premier hub for all sneaker and streetwear culture.
Now you may ask, “Huh, another one ah?”, let me stop you there. Shoelution, strategically nestled in between humble neighbourhood clinics and florists, aims to be your friendly neighbourhood sneaker store. A communal spot for sneakerheads to converge and just talk about everything sneakers.
Instead of a drop-off point for sullied kicks, they want to create a relationship with their customers with an unpretentious storefront and warm smiles. A parasol sits outside the store serving as a hangout area for patrons or for anyone who wants to soak in the vibes.
Shoelution offers shoe cleaning services split into three tiers that range from superficial stains to a deep clean that finishes off with a free water repellent coating. The prices vary from S$10 – S$32 depending on the service you require. They work mainly with two material qualities – canvases as well as your basic knits, and premium leathers and tough-to-work with suedes.
Sizes and models don’t matter when it comes to the price. So, you could send your Yeezys in for a cool clean and depending on the stains, you could walk away paying only S$10. Now, that’s a great deal if you ask me.
Aaron and his team assure new customers that have reservations about having their sneakers malignantly scrubbed down due to past mishaps with other similar services, with the fact that they use non-industrial grade solutions and methods.
Angelus is the brand of choice that they use for all the sneaker cleaning needs. The American brand is a household name in sneaker culture from being shoe customisers’ brand of choice.
They technically could get rid of a pesky stain on your midsole but if it harms the shoe in any way, they would not go down that route. The guys at Shoelution work with integrity and more so, a love for sneakers. Real Sneakerheads Recognise Real Sneakerheads.
Shoelution also has plans to expand to offer a bigger retail space and hopefully carry cult streetwear labels such as Supreme, Palace and Off-White.
Consignment will also begin soon where customers can leave their BNDS (brand-new dead stock) kicks with Shoelution taking only a ten percent sell-on fee, a much smaller split compared to market rates.
The guys at Shoelution have high hopes for the store. With plans of offering full customisation and repairs as well in the coming months, they hope to establish themselves as a one-stop solution for all your sneaker needs just as their name suggests.
