Before you tell me to wake you up when September ends, I’m going to tell you what you’re going to miss out if you do so. The month of September 2019 is jam-packed with all sorts of events and activities.
From food fairs to international DJ sets to walking dinosaurs, there are many things to look forward to this month so don’t head off to sleep yet—I’m going to share with you 15 exciting Singapore events that are happening in September.
1. Singapore F1 Grand Prix (20 – 22 Sep)

The highlight for the month of September would definitely be the annual Singapore F1 Grand Prix. Other than the race itself, you can enjoy a myriad of live performances such as Swedish House Mafia, MUSE and Red Hot Chili Peppers amongst many others, all happening downtown.

2. COMEX 2019 (5 – 8 Sep)

One of the largest electronic exhibitions in Singapore is taking place from the 5 – 8 September, with over 600 exhibitors. You can enjoy massive discounts with their Hero products, where electronics can get discounted for as much as 50% off. Some participating brands to look out for include Creative, Sennheiser as well as Armaggeddon.

3. Singapore Vegan Festival (29 Sep)

Curious about veganism? Thinking about a change in diet? Or do you simply want to enjoy a plant-based food experience? Then head on down to the Singapore Vegan Festival on 29 September. Not only will there be vegan food stalls, but there will also be cooking demonstrations, talks as well as children activities. Omnivores are welcome too.

4. The Try Guys “Legends Of The Internet” Tour (28 Sep)

Internet sensation The Try Guys are in town for an evening of comedy, and countrymen, you’re in luck. Singapore is the only stop in South East Asia where the comedic quartet will perform, so hurry and grab your tickets from Sistic if you haven’t already, as Legends Of The Internet promises a completely unique and interactive show—Something you won’t be able to experience just by watching Youtube Videos.

5. Gardens By The Bay’s Mid-Autumn Festival (30 Aug – 15 Sep)

September is the de facto month of mooncakes and lanterns. Although Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 13th of September, enjoy festivities at Gardens by the Bay from 30 August – 15 September, free of charge.
Immerse yourself in Chinese culture as you walk through the tallest and widest ever display of floating lanterns in Singapore, and take part in traditional activities such as lantern riddle guessing and mass lantern walking. Of course, you will be able to indulge in Asian street food at Food Street as well.

6. Sentosa Sandsation: Star Wars Edition (31 Aug – 15 Sep)

While we may not be able to freely visit the Star Wars Theme Disney Park in the USA, perhaps something close to the galaxy far far away is the Sentosa Sandsation happening from the 31 August to the 15 September.
At this event, you will be able to marvel at the creation of iconic characters from the film as they come to life in the form of sand sculptures. You will also be able to get exclusive Star Wars merchandise at this event.
Not a fan of Star Wars? Don’t worry as you will also be able to enjoy free admission into Sentosa as well as S$5 off Grab rides into the island.

7. The 1975 Live In Singapore (16 Sep)

British pop band The 1975 will be here in Singapore for a one-night concert only on 16 Sept at the Star Vista. If you haven’t had a chance to get your tickets, you better start looking as they are already sold out on APACTix. You may try your luck on Carousell though.

8. Singapore River Festival (2 Aug – 15 Sep)

Although the Singapore River Festival began in August, it will run all the way up till 15 September so this month is the last chance for you to catch the three quays— Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay in all its artistic glory. Engulf all your senses in the magic, with art installations, theatrical performances, flea markets, food stalls and music.
Even if you have already been here, come on down on the 14 and 15 of September, and you can enjoy unique Mid-Autumn themed activities. Do whatever you want, because it’s “Your River Your Way”.

9. World Food Fair (12-15 Sep)

For the 16th time running, the World Food Fair is back. Enjoy treats from all over the world across four days—- why book plane tickets when you can enjoy a plethora of snack options here in Singapore?

10. Typhoon8 @ RWS Adventure Cove Waterpark (20 Sep)

Whoever said that Adventure Cove is just a place for you to beat the heat? Rave to electronic DJ sets from all over the world— from the likes of DJ Soda from Korea and DJ Christina Novelli from the UK, complemented by sweeping waves, neon lights as well as fireworks—it is bound to be a heart-pumping, wet and unforgettable night. 11. Walking With Dinosaurs – The Live Experience (29 Aug – 6 Sept)

Making a comeback after 65 million years, take a trip to the Land Before Time as you admire the wonders of technology—- in the form of 18 life-sized dinosaurs at BBC’s Walking With Dinosaurs show.
Enjoy this state of the art production using animatronics to recreate the movements and realism of these giant creatures, because who knows when tickets might get extinct.

12. tokidoki X River Safari (1 Sep – 31 Oct)
The cutesy Japan-inspired lifestyle brand is making an appearance at the River Safari this September with animals transforming into Tokidoki characters. You will be able to watch mermaid performances, snap selfies with Tokidoki statues and collect eight exclusive Tokidoki pins over this two-month-long event.

13. Halloween Horror Nights 9 (27 Sep – 31 Oct)
For the ninth year running, Halloween Horror Nights is back. The hunted house attraction will be based off Thai horror films this year, such as Curse of Naga, Twisted Clown University, Spirit Dolls, The Chalet Hauntings and Hell Block 9.

14. My Love Andy Lau World Tour (25-28 Sept)

Whether you are a fan of the Four Heavenly Kings or just Andy Lau himself, the chance to catch the Cantopop Star live in Singapore is extremely rare—his last concert in Singapore was over a decade ago!
40 containers worth of stage equipment and costumes are being shipped in just for this concert, and you’re bound to fall into a huge post-concert depression after the spectacular performance.

15. 2022 World Cup Qualifiers (5 Sep & 10 Sep)

Will the Lions finally be able to take part in the World Cup as envisioned more than two decades ago? Come and support our local athletes as they take on the likes of Yemen (5 September) and Palestine (10 September) in September. With the backing of a home crowd, let’s hope the Lions fight hard to enter the next round of qualifiers.
