Samsung unveiled its latest and greatest mobile phone series, the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra on Tuesday (11 Feb) and we’ve had the opportunity for some hands-on time with the devices. It’s official. We have reached peak smartphone design and performance. Samsung’s newest Galaxy line up turbocharged their previous S10 series and not only made it better—they made, quite literally, the most powerful device in the market today.
With an R&D team working in overdrive, Samsung managed to improve on every aspect of the smartphone to deliver the best of everything it can possibly offer. We’re talking displays that are not only bright and the best in standard, but also one that refreshes at a staggering 120hz. That’s 120 refreshes per second. The result is a silky smooth screen with zero stutters. With the s20, gaming will be quite an experience.
With the S20 Ultra, the leader of mobile imaging is pushing the boundaries of cameras with a mind-blowing 108-megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom. The other two models are no slouch either with telephoto and ultrawide lenses to take in anything you throw at it.
Battery capacity has been bumped up across the entire series, ranging from 4,000-mAh to a 5,000-mAh. It’s time to ditch that power bank and live worry-free from morning to as late as you can possibly muster. Even then, I’m sure you’ll have enough juice to watch any of the Netflix shows on our recommended list. You’re welcome.
Even with all these massive upgrades, Samsung is probably one of the very few manufacturers that still provide an SD Card slot that supports up to 1 TB of space. This is on top of the internal storage that starts at a whopping 128gb. Unfortunately, there’s no longer a headphone jack. But, come on, it’s 2020. It’s time to cut the wire and live wirelessly especially when every pre-order of an S20+ or S20 Ultra comes with a free pair of white Galaxy Buds+, an upgrade over its predecessor with longer battery life and better sound quality.
