Given the many rows and columns of groceries, supermarkets actually make for a great artsy backdrop. From symmetrical lines to a spectrum full of colours, they offer the perfect setting if you’re looking for an unconventional exhibition space.
And that’s exactly what OUTSIDER, a fashion and art festival happening from 20 – 22 October 2017, was thinking when it chose Big Box in the heart of Jurong East as the venue.
OUTSIDER is the title of the inaugural fashion and art festival, dubbed as an “anti-elitist” festival, and it will showcase fashion and art exhibitions of designers and visual artists in Asia. With the odd mix of setting and event, the organisers hope to eliminate the noise from typical fashion runways with a more familiar environment.
Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) graduates will also have their 45 works displayed for an extra week, alongside 10 local artists. As bizarre as it sounds, it could just be that little bit zany and out there to get you interested. There’s only one way to find out.
Dates & Times: 20 October 2017 (12pm – 6pm) , 21 & 22 October 2017 (11am – 10pm)
