In July 2019, Seiko released a limited edition One Piece watch to celebrate the anime’s 20th anniversary. This 9 August 2019, it looks like Puma Japan is dropping its own One Piece-themed retail item.
Named the Cell Endura One Piece, the shoe’s design draws inspiration from “Thousand Sunny”, the ship of the straw hat pirates.
Instead of typical laces, these sneakers have brown rope-like laces, reminiscent of the ship’s rigging.
My favourite part of the shoe is the gold anchor hanging from the back, which really helps make this collab stand out.
The insoles have some detailing too – the brand and anime’s logos are featured against a green background.
The shoe box has also been carefully designed, with black and white artistic drawings showcasing One Piece characters. The price of these exclusive sneakers is still unknown, so we’ll just have to wait and see!
Unfortunately, it seems like this collaboration is only available in Japan. But let’s be real One Piece fans, that’s just a great excuse for a holiday.
