Roald Dahl’s children novels cultivated my love for reading as a young child – just thinking about them fills me with nostalgia as well as fond memories of poring over the pages filled with distinctive illustrations by Quentin Blake.
Relive your glorious childhood by watching Matilda: Songs and Scenes, the musical adaptation of the classic novel by Roald Dahl, at UWCSEA ABT Theatre on 11 June 2017. The performers are students from Evolve Arts’ Musical Theatre, Treble Makers and Singing classes.
Matilda is a story about a neglected little girl who is belittled by her dimwitted parents. Left to her own devices, Matilda reads widely and becomes wise beyond her age. She finds a companion in her teacher, Miss Honey, and learns to harness her telekinetic powers to take a stand against her headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, who bullies her staff and students.
To all avid readers of Roald Dahl’s books, take a trip down memory lane and immerse yourself in the world of Matilda Wormwood while enjoying the songs, scenes and dances in the musical!
