Late-Night Texting returns once more on 25 & 26 August 2017 with over 30 performances by seven groups — there’s something for everyone during this weekend of textual adventures, from short plays and unfiltered improv comedy, to heart-wrenching storytelling.
Brought to you by Centre 42, Late-Night Texting is a night filled with literary works that have come to life in different forms.
Short plays are in abundance with the Main Tulis Group, a group of playwrights performing in both Malay and English; and Dark Matters Theatrics who puts the magic in mundane happenings in life to highlight the common folk.
If you’re looking for something more light-hearted, there are comedic acts peppered around the premises throughout the night with the local comedic improv troupe, The Latecomers. See them breaking into a K-Pop performance or even a heartfelt confession right on the spot by texting them your suggestions.
Need something to remember the night by? Head over to the Night Shift by Proletariat Poetry Factory who will turn your one-word suggestions into a customised typewritten poem. And you could refuel for your next escapades through food trucks operated by the Coffee Bandits.
You know what could make this just that bit better? Free admission! Yup, that’s right. So mark your dates and head over to get yourself waxed lyrical.
