Ground Zero Run For Humanity is making a return on 13 August 2017 at East Coast Park, following the success of the same event last year, which attracted over 1,200 runners.
Participants can have the option to carry a weighted relief pack during the race to simulate a survivor’s pressing quest for supplies in the wake of a disaster situation. And, at the end of the event, hundreds of them will be distributed to needy families.
Here are the three categories that you can take part in:
Take it easy with your child (aged three – 12) in the 1km Dash for Humanity with an optional one kilogram relief pack.
Challenge yourself with the 5km Relief Aid Challenge with rougher terrain and a five to seven kilogram relief pack. Don’t worry, you can bring along a partner to take turns with the carrying!
For the truly adventurous, take on the competitive Race Against Time where participants have 80 minutes to complete a distance of 10km across sandy terrain, meant to reflect the difficulty of disaster-stricken areas. Runners may opt to carry a five to seven kilogram relief pack as well.
Participants who register by 20 May 2017 will receive an early bird discount of up to S$10, so hurry to get your tickets!
