Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster has teamed up with Japanese jewellery label AMBUSH for a bold and futuristic sunglasses collection. The collaboration showcases both of the brands’ style and energy. As explained by Yoon, the creative director of AMBUSH, “AMBUSH AW19 collection is inspired by David Bowie’s movie ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth’, being on the move, on a journey. I wanted to create sunglasses to compliment this mood but in 2019 way.”
The Gentle Monster x Ambush sunglasses come in three designs- clear, blue and orange. The frames have prominent metal cable tie details located at the centre front and on both sides of the frame- which I personally love because thats so unique. The sunglasses have detachable metal logo accessories. Each pair of sunglasses retail at US$350 (approx. S$475).
Gentle Monster x Ambush Clear
The ‘Zip Tie’ sunglasses have a clear coloured full-acetate frame, with a sports goggle silhouette.

Each pair of sunglasses are packaged in a display case that mirrors the sunglasses’ minimalistic and clean design.
