“For our East Coast residents, the- we also have a plan for the East Coast. We have a East Coast, Singapore, we have a together, an East Coast plan.” As someone who kept up with most of the Nomination Day speeches, I must say, our candidates must do better.
I genuinely thought to myself ‘why did these candidates not make speech preparations or have a speechwriter write their speeches for them?’ I find the lack of coherency from most candidates quite shameful—if Ng Eng Hen from PAP and Michelle Lee from Red Dot United could be organised enough to read from a pre-written script—I don’t see why the other candidates could not.
Enough of my rant, I’m glad that Heng Swee Kiat’s televised blunder sparked Singaplex, a local lifestyle website to create the EAST COAST Collection, a collection which consists of three garments and one tote bag, all of which feature the following design, “East Coast by East Coast for plan by East Coast, together with East Coast for plan by East Coast”
If you find the design familiar, it’s probably because it took cues from the iconic ‘Jacobs by Marc Jacobs for Marc by Marc Jacobs in collaboration with Marc Jacobs for Marc by Marc Jacobs’.
